Idaho Falls is the third-largest metropolitan area in the state, with roughly 67,000 residents. It is located on the state’s eastern side, only about an hour from the Wyoming border. It’s big enough to provide access to modern amenities and cultural attractions to keep you busy and entertained but small enough that it hasn’t lost its western way of life. It has four perfect seasons and activities for each one. There are culture-rich, indoor activities like the Riverside Art Museum of Eastern Idaho and the Museum of Idaho, which has local-history exhibits, including items linked to the Lewis and Clark expedition and a re-created 1800s town. If you’re an outdoor enthusiast, you’ll love the proximity to Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks. There are outdoor activities to do right near town, too! Plenty of natural hot springs, fly fishing on the Snake River, waterfalls, and hiking will keep you busy year-round. The size of the city also means that if you head downtown, you’ll find plenty of fine dining and local shopping. The stunning natural beauty means you can relax near the mountains and rivers.
