McCall is a small resort town located on the western side of Valley County. It is a gem for any lover of the outdoors with year-round hiking trails, nearby skiing and snowboarding, hot springs, mountain biking, and many other outdoor adventures. The town is small and not densely populated, with only around 3,000 living in the city. Many residents live on the outskirts with large pieces of land, and the other homes are usually not occupied year-round. The downtown area has many amenities and makes you feel like you’re on a resort vacation, even if you live there.

The usually sleepy and quaint town has a few popular events and brings people from all over Idaho and other states. The annual winter festival draws thousands to the city, and many Idaho natives have memories of going to the festival their entire life. The ice sculptures are the main event, and many compete to create the most incredible sculptures you’ve ever seen. Other festivals, such as the outdoor music series, car show, and mountain biking festival, bring an air of excitement, and many visitors to the city keep the economy strong and the businesses thriving.
