Rathdrum is a historically rich city right outside of Coeur D’Alene and is one of the oldest towns in North Idaho. The city is on the smaller side, with a population of around 8,000 residents, with a strong love of the outdoors. Despite three substantial fires in the late 1800s and early 1900s, many historic buildings stand in the city, including the oldest brick church in the state. Rathdrum is located ideally for anyone who wants to be able to visit many places in short trips and links Northern Idaho with Eastern Washington. It is only 25 minutes from both Coeur d’Alene and Spokane and around 3 hours to the Canadian border. Rathdrum Mountain is a gorgeous sight to behold on the northwest side of the city. The city has no shortage of things to do between the local farmer’s market, lovely parks, and golf clubs. And only a short distance from Rathdrum is Silverwood Theme Park, which is the largest amusement park in the Pacific Northwest. Between the scenic Sawtooth Mountains and the beautiful Coeur d’Alene Lake, this city is perfect for anyone searching for a slow-paced life and endless outdoor activities.
